I am truly fortunate in that I have amazing friends and am surrounded by supportive people that often gift unique materials that spawn creativity. A while back, I was given three panels of wood that were reclaimed from a local high school as their theater was being remodeled. Two of these panels were used to create mixed media pieces for another collection while the third remained intact, waiting for an idea. That idea came in the form of LaVelle. In addition to being made almost exclusively from Benet Academy, LaVelle’s color is created from rusty nails and fire.
